Leeds United Considering Loan Bid For Tottenham Outcast Jermaine Jenas

Midfielder could drop down to Championship.

Championship outfit Leeds are considering approaching Tottenham about taking unwanted midfielder Jermaine Jenas on loan, reports ESPN.

Spurs are keen to offload the 29-year-old, who didn’t feature for them at all last season after picking up a serious ankle injury while on loan at Aston Villa.

Jenas almost joined Sunderland on loan on transfer deadline day but the move collapsed because the Black Cats had already landed Spurs’ left-back Danny Rose on a season-long deal and Premier League rules prevent two players from the same club joining another top-flight side on loan.

Former England international Jenas is reluctant to drop down a division but has been told he does not feature prominently in Spurs head-coach Andre Villas-Boas’ plans – although he did appear from the bench in Spurs 1-1 draw with West Brom last month.

Leeds consider Jenas the perfect replacement for David Norris, who is out for a month with a thigh injury. Neil Warnock, boss of the Yorkshire club, is a fan of the former Nottingham Forest midfielder, having previously tried to sign him when he was in charge at QPR.
