San Siro side keen on Nou Camp midfielder.
AC Milan are lining up a shock loan approach for Cesc Fabregas, according to reports in Italy.
The former Arsenal star has recently admitted he is unhappy with his role in Tito Vilanova’s Barcelona side – but insists he wants to stay.
Italian giants Milan, however, reckon they could tempt him to the San Siro on a short-term basis with the promise of a starring role in their team.
Barca have a good relationship with Milan, having sent Zlatan Ibrahimovic on loan there before he made his switch permanent back in 2011.
It does seem that a mountain is being made out of this molehill. Cesc Fabregas made some fairly throwaway comments about being a sub for the Spanish Super Cup encounters with Real Madrid and this has sparked a great deal of speculation about the former Arsenal man’s position at the Nou Camp side.
There has been much talk of the midfielder perhaps not being part of Tito Vilanova’s first team plans but this fails to register the fact that Fabregas has started every one of Barcelona’s La Liga matches this season and therefore it seems that there is little credence in the claims that the new boss is not keen on the 25 year old.
Indeed if anything if early season indicators are anything to go by then Vilanova may well be ready to use Fabregas more often that Pep Guardiola did last term.
Fabregas has made a total of 52 appearances for Barcelona since his £23m move back to the Catalan giants last summer, netting 15 goals and providing 20 assists in the process.
