Emirates Stadium side plot move for former Chelsea hero.
Arsenal want to prise striker Drogba away from Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua
Arsenal are ready to offer Didier Drogba an escape from his China crisis
The 34-year-old former Chelsea striker has been caught up in a boardroom power struggle just three months after signing a £200,000 a week contract with Shanghai Shenhua.
The Gunners, desperate to fill the void left by Robin van Persie, have made enquiries with the Chinese club to see if there is a way of bringing Drogba back to London.

When Didier Drogba chose to pursue a career in China there would’ve been many who felt that the 34 year old was ending his European playing career a little too early and much speculation about a possible return for the Shanghai Shenhua forward may suggest that the former Chelsea man could well be persuaded into making a move back sooner rather than later.
Though Drogba didn’t start last term all that well the Ivory Coast man showed just how capable he is of cutting it in the big leagues with a superb performance in Chelsea’s Champions League final triumph over Bayern Munich and had of course scored the winner in the Blues FA Cup final win over Liverpool days earlier.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is known for trusting to youth but may feel the need to bring extra striking options and could therefore be ready to offer Drogba a short term deal, but one does wonder if the former Chelsea hero would consider returning to the Premier League to play for another top tier side.
Wenger brought in Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud over the summer but then lost the fight to keep Robin Van Persie and the North London side has managed just two goals from their opening three Premier League encounters. The Gunners boss has also offloaded, albeit temporarily, back-up options Nicklas Bendtner and Park Chu-Young whilst Carlos Vela was sold to Real Sociedad. Marouane Chamakh remains at the club but is unlikely to see a great deal of action.
This source also states that former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho may be interested in bringing the experienced forward to the Bernabeu and a move to Real Madrid may appear more likely than a deal to sign for Arsenal.
Drogba has netted four goals in six games but his side sits way out of title contention in tenth spot, in a 16 team league, after 23 games in a 30 game season.
