Emirates Stadium side keen on Goodison Park star.
Arsenal are eyeing Everton fullback Leighton Baines.
The People says Arsenal could rekindle an interest in Everton left-back Baines during the January transfer window.
Arsene Wenger’s potential interest in Everton defender Leighton Baines is perhaps not all that surprising given the injury and form concerns he has had with a number of the full-backs in his Emirates Stadium squad.
Over the past year the likes of Bacary Sagna, Kieran Gibbs, Carl Jenkinson and Andre Santos have all been out with injuries and Wenger may see the 27 year old England international as a viable option to fill the left hand side role in his Arsenal defence.
The Toffees star has been strongly linked with interest from a number of Premier League sides with Chelsea and Everton both said to have been interested in the former Wigan Athletic man over the summer.
Everton boss David Moyes has grown accustomed to interest in his top talents but thus far this summer did manage to keep hold of Baines as well as the likes of Marouane Fellaini and Nikica Jelavic but did see Jack Rodwell leave to join Premier League title holders Man City.
Though Arsenal did bring in three high-profile additions to the club during the transfer window, with Lukas Podolski, Olivier Giroud and Santi Cazorla moving to North London, the cost of those signings was more than offset by the sales of Robin Van Persie, Alex Song and a number of other ‘lesser’ squad members. Therefore one would imagine that Wenger would have access to the funds needed to make a significant bid for the Everton man.
The set-piece specialist is as commanding a presence going forward as he is in defence and is a player who has arguably outgrown Everton.
