Promising Youngster Shane Duffy Signs New Deal At Everton

Shane Duffy signs new three-year deal. Promising young Everton defender Shane Duffy has signed a new deal with the club which will keep him at Goodison Park until 2015.

The Republic of Ireland centre-back was signed by Everton boss David Moyes after impressing the manager in a performance the youngster put in for Northern Ireland against England at U16 level, prior to him making the decision to represent the Republic of Ireland.

Duffy made his Everton first-team debut in January after being recalled from a loan spell at Scunthorpe United, and has gone on to make 8 first team appearances since then, most recently in their 5-0 Capital One Cup victory over Leyton Orient, with the youngster considered a potential future star for the Toffees.

The player has announced he is delighted to be remaining with the club he has loved every minute playing for, according to Everton’s Official website.

The Republic of Ireland player has been capped 8 times for the U21 side.
