Sagna loves the club, claims Wenger.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger expects disgruntled defender Bacary Sagna to remain at the Emirates.
Sagna has been linked with a move away from north London in January after angrily questioning the club’s transfer policy and admitting Arsenal were yet to open talks over a new contract, which has two years left to run.
This summer has seen the departures of stars Robin van Persie and Alex Song from Arsenal and Song admitted last week that “when you see your two best players…leave, you ask yourself questions”.
The France international also said that it was tough to see former teammates Gael Clichy and Samir Nasri winning the league with Manchester City and conceded: “It makes you want that.”
But Wenger has moved to dismiss speculation that Sagna could follow the likes of van Persie, Nasri and Cesc Fabregas in leaving the club.
“Bacary’s interview doesn’t reflect the love he has for this club,” Wenger is quoted as saying by the BBC. “He has always given full commitment.
“Bacary loves the club and I think he will stay here.”
