Old Trafford side battle Barcelona for Real Betis teenager.
Spanish source Sport.es claims that Man United will fight Barcelona for the signing of highly rated young Spanish winger Alvaro Vadillo
The Old Trafford side had previously been linked with an apparent €3m (£2.4m) offer for the Real Betis winger who though only 17 years of age has already represented the Spanish Under 20 national team.
However a clause in the player’s contract will see the fee needed to trigger his release rise to €20m (£16m) if he plays just one more game for Real Betis. It seems highly likely that the La Liga side will hand the player another appearance in order to cash-in
Real Madrid and AC Milan have also been monitoring the youngster’s development following his promotion from Real Betis B to the La Liga side’s first team set-up.
The speedy attacker has a bright future and Betis boss Pepe Mel could have a fight on his hands to keep the Spanish starlet.
Sir Alex Ferguson has taken a more youthful transfer policy approach in recent seasons, the move for Robin Van Persie being something of an anomaly for the Man United boss, and the Scot has seen the likes of Javier Hernandez, David de Gea, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones make instant impacts in the first team.
