Pepe Reina Unhappy With Speculation Linking Liverpool With Signing Of New Keeper

Spanish ‘keeper upset that club rumoured to be looking at other options.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina is unhappy with his club over speculation linking them with a move for a new ‘keeper to replace him due to his current poor form.

The player has long-since looked at his brilliant best in a Liverpool shirt and, coupled with the woeful start from the team, he has not found the form expected of him so far this campaign.

Reports suggest the club looked into the possibility of signing a ‘keeper to come in and challenge Reina in the summer transfer market without success but, should Reina fail to find form soon, they may consider offloading Reina and sign an outright replacement in January.

German youngster Marc-Andre ter Stegen of Borussia Monchengladbach tops their wish-list and the 20-year-old, tipped to be world-class ‘keeper, could come in and establish himself at Anfield for years to come.

It is thought that Monchengladbach would be willing to cash-in on ter Stegen and are bracing themselves for an approach from Liverpool about a pre-contract agreement that could see the German move to Anfield in January.

Marc-Andre ter Stegen has played 44 times for Monchengladbach since his debut in 2010.
