Emirates Stadium side continue to pursue French international.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will this January push on with moves to land long term target Loic Remy. The Gunners manager is ready to offer around £10m for the French international plus the addition of Moroccan forward Marouane Chamakh in part exchange for the 25 year old marksman.
Wenger has tracked Remy for some time and was said to be weighing up a move for the speedy forward when he was first breaking onto the scene at Nice.
Remy may well be sold by the Stade Velodrome side as Marseille look to balance the books. The former Nice striker has had two solid seasons at the club, netting 37 goals in the process, but watched on as they slipped to a poor tenth place finish last term.
Though Arsenal have brought in Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski from Montpellier and Koln respectively, Arsene Wenger may well still feel the need to beef up his attacking options. Indeed the sale of Robin Van Persie and the lack of viable support options have led the Gunners boss to plot another high-profile move.
The jury is seemingly very much out on French forward Giroud, who is yet to net his first Arsenal goal and has missed some fairly easy chances when called upon. Indeed the big striker has hit a very poor run of form, going some 11 games without a goal in a run that dates back to his time at Montpellier last term.
Wenger may feel that the addition of Chamakh into the bargain may tempt Marseille as despite his failure to make an impact at Arsenal the former Bordeaux man was a big success in Ligue 1, helping his side to a domestic title in 2008/09 and netting a total of 76 goals for Les Girondins.
