Zaha should stay at Palace, says boss.
Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman has insisted that Liverpool and Tottenham target Wilfried Zaha is better off staying at Selhurst Park.
The 19-year-old is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Spurs and West Ham and has been tipped for a big-money move to the Premier League before long.
The England under-21 international impressed last season for the south Londoners and has started this campaign in a similar vein, sparkling as Palace beat Chalton on Friday.
But Freedman has stressed that Zaha is not ready for a top-flight switch and believes he is better off remaing where he is.
“Wilfried’s got a five-year contract and as far as I can see he’s going nowhere right now,” the Scot told Sky Sports.
“If the right club approaches myself then I’ll talk to the chairman.
“If enough money is put in front of the chairman then he’ll decide. It’s as simple as that.
“Wilfried’s got a long way to go. He’s a young player learning his trade and I think there’s no better place right now than Crystal Palace to learn it.”
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is desperate to add a pacey winger to his side and was reportedly lining up a January bid for the youngster.
