Man City Striker Sergio Aguero Admits to Having Interest In Real Madrid Move

Manchester City striker admits he wanted to join Los Blancos before Manchester City offered for him.

Manchester City star Sergio Aguero has admitted that he wanted to join Real Madrid in 2011 despite playing for their arch-rivals Atletico Madrid at the time.

The striker ended up signing for Manchester City after Madrid boss Jose Mourinho failed to make the offer he so desired, but this admission hints at the fact he would still love to turn out for the club he so admires after playing against them for a number of years for Atletico in El Derbi madrileno.

He revealed, according to the Mirror, that he moved to City because they were the only option besides remaining with Atletico at the time and these comments will not rest easy with City fans, particularly after increasing speculation linking the Argentine forward with an exit from the English Champions.

While Aguero did move to suggest he wasn’t looking to depart the Etihad Stadium following City’s 3-2 loss at the Bernabeu, a lucrative approach from Mourinho this time around could see the silky striker packing his bags for a return to Madrid, much to the begrudgement of the Atletico faithful.
