QPR to Make January Move for Man City Striker John Guidetti

Loftus Road side target Etihad Stadium youngster.

QPR are poised to make a January move to sign on loan Manchester City whizzkid John Guidetti as a replacement for the injured Andy Johnson.

Striker Johnson is out for 10 months after damaging cruciate knee ligaments last Saturday against Chelsea.

Though QPR have indeed lost the use of Andy Johnson for much of this current campaign it should be noted that Mark Hughes has a plethora of alternative striking options in his Loftus Road squad though arguably youngster John Guidetti would be a preferable option to most of those already in the Super Hoops armoury.

Hughes can call upon Djibril Cisse, Bobby Zamora and James Mackie as well as back-up options like Rob Hulse and DJ Campbell, both players though are thought to be lined up for Championship loan moves.

Guidetti notched up 20 goals from 23 Eredivisie appearances last term and has a bright future but will find it very hard to force his way past a quartet of top level internationals ahead of him in Roberto Mancini’s pecking order. Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli all stand in the way of the Swedish international and therefore a move away from the Premier League title holders may be the only way to prevent the youngster from stagnating in the Man City reserves.
