MLS side keen on Stamford Bridge midfielder.
LA Galaxy have put Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard top of their priority list, according to reports in the English press.
Lampard, 34, has less than a year left on his Chelsea contract and could sign a pre-contract agreement in January with a view to moving to MLS in the summer.
Though Frank Lampard is clearly nearing the end of his glittering career he may well feel he still has a lot to offer and clearly still has the ability to make an impact in any of the strongest European leagues and therefore may not be ready to make a move to the MLS, despite what sums he could earn from moving to the LA Galaxy.
Perhaps LA Galaxy see the Chelsea man as a possible replacement for David Beckham, who at 37 may not have all that much left in the tank, and one can see the possibility of the Blues veteran being keen on a move Stateside and the new challenge such a switch would entail.
Lampard 49 appearances last term to help his West London side to a FA Cup and Champions League double and the former West Ham man has also netted three goals in his last England matches so could well feel a move to the MLS can wait a couple more years.
One wonders what contract offer, if any, Chelsea make to their mercurial midfielder and whether it’s enough to persuade Lampard to put pen to paper.
