Liverpool Plot Move to Sign Young German Winger

Anfield side running the rule over Bundesliga wideman.

According to Italian source CalcioMercato Liverpool’s scouting network have identified talented young German winger Sidney Sam as a target. The 24 year old Bayer Leverkusen wide-man is a former German Under 21 international and is by no means a regular in his Bundesliga side’s starting eleven but seemingly has the Anfield side interested.

Though the lack of effective contributions from the likes of Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing have led to the emergence of youngster Raheem Sterling as a real force in Liverpool’s attack, Brendan Rodgers knows his side needs more creative options on the flanks to help provide the ammunition for his threadbare strike force.

Sidney Sam may well have impressed watching Liverpool representatives when Bayer Leverkusen, managed by former favourite Sami Hyypia, took on the Merseyside club in a pre-season friendly this summer.

The former Hamburg attacker has an eye for goal having netted 11 goals in 48 matches for Bayer Leverkusen since his move to the BayArena two years ago.
