Etihad Stadium forward wanted by former club.
Italian source Corriere Dello Sport today report that Inter Milan are entertaining the notion of luring former striker Mario Balotelli back to the San Siro.
The former Inter Milan man enjoyed a successful Euro 2012 campaign only to find himself struggling to secure a run in the Man City first team and therefore the chance to return to Serie A may be a plausible scenario. One does wonder however if Balotelli would consider a move back to re-join the Nerazzurri given the bad feeling that developed between the player, the club and indeed the supporters and the 22 year old Italian international.
Inter Milan have experienced lean times since Balotelli, and more importantly Jose Mourinho, left the club and the current campaign hasn’t fared much better with Andrea Stramaccioni’s side losing two of their first four Serie A matches this season.
Balotelli made just 14 Premier League starts last term but still managed a total of 13 goals. Roberto Mancini appears to see Argentine pair Sergio Aguero and Carlos Tevez as his preferred attacking options. Even Edin Dzeko may find himself ahead of the Italian having already netted three goals this season.
