Liverpool Plot £8m Move for South Korean Starlet Heung-Min Son

Anfield line-up move for Bundesliga youngster.

Liverpool are reportedly interested in up and coming Bundesliga forward Heung-Min Son with Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers having scouted the South Korean this term. The Hamburg attacker has started the current Bundesliga campaign with a bang, netting three goals in four matches thus far and the 20 year old has begun to attract the attention of a number of Europe’s ‘Elite’.

Heung-Min is into his third season in the Hamburg first team having moved to the Imtech Arena side back in 2008 and last term the adaptable forward, who can play out on the flank or in an orthodox striking role, became a regular in Thorsten Fink’s starting eleven.

Liverpool could well do with attacking reinforcements as currently the Merseyside outfit lacks firepower and Rodgers has just two recognised senior strikers in his squad, Luis Suarez and unproven Italian Fabio Borini. Heung-Min Son may be tempted by a move to the Premier League but his willingness to leave may depend on just how far Hamburg have come from last term’s woeful 15th placed finish.

Hamburg have lost three of their first Bundesliga matches this season, this despite the return of Dutch playmaker Rafael Van der Vaart, and if there hasn’t been a significant improvement then the Chuncheon born youngster may well consider the possibility of a move to the Merseyside club.

Though Rodgers has not been handed a great deal in the way of transfer funds by the club’s American owners Liverpool are said to be ready to offer around £8m for the young forward, an opening offer that may help illustrate to Heung-Min Son the club’s interest in his services.
