CalcioMercato are reporting that Liverpool are ready to make a move for Borussia Dortmund winger Kevin Grosskreutz this January.

This source states that the 24 year old German international is keen on a Premier League move and therefore could be tempted by any interest Anfield. The Borussia Dortmund attacker helped Jurgen Klopp’s side to back to back Bundesliga titles so one has to wonder as to why he would be so keen to leave the Westfalenstadion.

Liverpool could well do with some fresh attacking options and are fairly light on the flanks and given that Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing have both failed to make an impact at the Merseyside club in their first seasons. Though this has helped to bring youngster Raheem Sterling to the fore Rodgers will still be looking to the possibility of bringing in reinforcements in January.

Grosskreutz wouldn’t be the first member of Klopp’s all conquering side to look to leave Borussia Dortmund, with Nuri Sahin and Shinji Kagawa leaving for Real Madrid and Man United respectively.

The fact that Sahin has moved to Anfield may well help in any potential move to bring the Dortmund born winger to the club.
