Reading are interested in rising Real Madrid winger Denis Cheryshev.

The 21-year-old Russian plays for Madrid’s second team Castilla, in the Spanish second division, and played for the senior side in pre-season.

He was spotted by the Bernabeu club as an 11-year-old while his father Dmitri was playing in Spain and he has risen through the youth teams.

Spartak Moscow are interested in taking him home, but Real Madrid rejected three offers from Russian clubs in the summer and are not looking to sell.

However, Reading are likely to request a loan move if they receive encouragement and continue to be impressed by his performances.

Even if Denis Cheryshev is on the periphery of the Real Madrid first team any successful move by Reading to capture the Russian Under 21 international would represent something of a coup.

The Berkshire side’s owner Anton Zingarevich will be incredibly keen to keep Reading in the top flight and may feel that the addition of the talented winger would go someway to helping their cause. Brian McDermott could well do with some attacking reinforcements and are yet to win a Premier League match.

Cheryshev has spent three seasons in the Real Madrid B side and seems no nearer to making a first team debut so could well be tempted by the chance to move to the Premier League.

The Bernabeu wide-man has netted six goals in 10 matches for the Russian Under 21 international side and has proved a very able performer for Real Madrid’s second string and could be ready for a move to Reading, where he could well secure the first team football he desires.
