Old Trafford side set to sign Blackpool youngster Tom Ince.
BLACKPOOL’S outstanding winger Tom Ince is ready to follow in famous father Paul’s footsteps by joining Manchester United.
Old Trafford boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who signed England midfielder Paul from West Ham in 1989 for £1million, now plans to bring in his son (right), 20.
Tom could cost six times more than his father, with United and Championship side Blackpool close to agreeing a £6m fee.

Sir Alex Ferguson has adopted a youthful transfer policy over the past few years and clearly has in recent seasons bought British as well as brought in players from the English ‘lower leagues’. Sir Alex Ferguson has seen the immediate impact the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones had when they arrived at Old Trafford and brought in talented Crewe midfielder Nick Powell over the summer and has already seen the teenager net on his debut.
Tom Ince has a bright future and it seems clear that a move to a ‘bigger’ club has been on the cards for some time. The 20 year old winger was allowed to leave Liverpool after two years in their youth team and one season in their first team, which yielded one solitary League Cup appearance.
Last term the youngster put in a consistent run of form that at Bloomfield Road and is considered by many as one of the best players outside the top tier. Ince has continued that form into the current campaign, during which he has netted six goals in six Championship appearances and Tangerines boss Ian Holloway knows his grip on the England Under 21 international is growing more an more precarious.
£6m seems a decent fee for a player with no top tier experience but Blackpool may also want to look to secure a percentage of any future sale as Paul Ince’s son has every chance of making as big an impact in the game as his dad did.
