Bolton loanee says Lambert wants himself and Hutton out.
Bolton new-boy Stephen Warnock has revealed that Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert told himself and Alan Hutton to find new clubs over the summer.
One-time England left-back Warnock joined Championship outfit Bolton Wanderers on a three-month loan deal last month but Scottish right-back Hutton remains at Villa Park.
The pair were signed in big-money deals by previous regimes at the midlands club, with Warnock costing £8m from Blackburn in 2009 and Hutton arriving in a £7m deal from Tottenham in 2011.
Warnock believes that both him and his teammate have played their last game for Villa, saying they had been deemed ‘surplus to requirements’ in a veiled criticism of Lambert.
“Myself and Alan Hutton had been deemed surplus to requirements,” the 30-year-old former Liverpool defender is quoted as saying by Tribal Football.
“The manager had his own way of doing things but I’m not looking back at that now. It was difficult but you’ve got to respect that each manager makes his own decisions.”
