David Moyes Says Everton Will Not Rush Into Signing Trialist Thomas Hitzlsperger

Moyes says midfielder must get fit.

Check-In to Wigan v Everton

Everton boss David Moyes insists he is in no rush to sign up trialist Thomas Hitzlsperger.

The former German international, who has plenty of Premier League experience with Aston Villa and West Ham, is a free agent after being released by Wolfsburg.

The midfielder is on trial with the Toffees and Everton assistant Steve Round has admitted he has been been impressed with the 30-year-old’s approach to training.

But Moyes says there is still some way to go before the left-footer, renowned for his hammer of a shot, becomes a part of the squad at Goodison Park.

“It’s going to be a while until we’re able to make a decision,” the Scot told Click Liverpool.

“He’s not really probably as fit [as he’d like]. He’s enjoying doing the football work and we’ll try to maybe step his work up a little bit next week.

“But there’ll be no quick news on that just now and there’ll be no certainly quick signing or anything else at all.”
