Check-In to Cluj v Man United

Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson continues to pursue a youthful transfer policy and as such has earmarked moves for two up and coming talents who are attracting a great deal of attention in the Championship.

The Metro reports that the Old Trafford giants will challenge Liverpool & Tottenham for Birmingham City youngster Nathan Redmond and that a fee of £12m is in the offing for the talented 18 year old winger.

The local born St Andrews’ teenager had a breakthrough last term, forcing his way into the Blues first team and putting in consistent displays and racking up 37 appearances in all competitions. Redmond has continued his progress this term under new boss Lee Clark and has played in all the club’s Championship fixtures this term.

The Daily Express claims that the pursuit of Blackpool attacker Tom Ince is far further down the track with Man United apparently close to agreeing a £6m deal to sign the former Liverpool youth team player.

Tom Ince has a bright future and it seems clear that a move to a ‘bigger’ club has been on the cards for some time. The 20 year old winger was allowed to leave Liverpool after two years in their youth team and one season in their first team, which yielded one solitary League Cup appearance.

Last term the youngster put in a consistent run of form that at Bloomfield Road and is considered by many as one of the best players outside the top tier. Ince has continued that form into the current campaign, during which he has netted six goals in six Championship appearances and Tangerines boss Ian Holloway knows his grip on the England Under 21 international is growing more an more precarious.

Sir Alex Ferguson has adopted a youthful transfer policy over the past few years and clearly has in recent seasons bought British as well as brought in players from the English ‘lower leagues’. Sir Alex Ferguson has seen the immediate impact the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones had when they arrived at Old Trafford and brought in talented Crewe midfielder Nick Powell over the summer and has already seen the teenager net on his debut.
