Liverpool Linked With Move for Solid Turkish International Centre Back

Anfield side keen on Galatasaray youngster.

Check-In Liverpool v Udinese

Italian source CalcioMercato reports that Liverpool are monitoring the progress of young Galatsaray centre back Semih Kaya as Brendan Rodgers continues to plan for the future.

The Turkish international centre-back has represented his Istanbul club since the age of 15 and last term broke into the first team and helped Galatasaray to the domestic title. The 21 year old is now a regular in national team set-up and is said to be a player with a number of admirers.

Rodgers doesn’t have a great deal of strength in depth at the back and given the consistent injury problems Danish international Daniel Agger suffers and Jamie Carragher’s advancing years it may make sense to consider investing in another possible option to beef up numbers.

Though Liverpool do also have the ever reliable Martin Skrtel and youngster Sebastian Coates to call upon the Anfield side is still relatively light in this area.

Kaya impressed many with his display against Man United in the Champions League encounter at Old Trafford last month.
