Bernabeu and Old Trafford sides to conduct player exchange?
MANCHESTER UNITED hope that offloading Javier Hernandez to Real Madrid will tempt the Spanish champions into letting go of some of their stars.
Sir Alex Ferguson has used Hernandez sparingly so far this season, following the summer arrival of Robin van Persie.
And with the Mexican’s days at Old Trafford seemingly numbered, reports in Spain have linked Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho with a move for the striker.
But, rather than contemplate a straight cash deal for the 24-year-old, Fergie is keen to see at least one of Madrid’s stars move the other way in return.
United have previously been linked with defenders Raul Albiol and Raphael Varane, with the Premier League side also closely monitoring Sergio Ramos’s current troubles with Mourinho.
Fergie’s dream target would be midfielder Kaka, after he aborted a bid for the Brazilian in the summer.

Kaka has been consistently linked with a move away from Real Madrid for the best part of 18 months but still he remains and is fighting his hardest to get a look in when it comes to first team matters, a task made tougher by the arrival of Luka Modric from Tottenham.
The former AC Milan man had a promising first season at the Spanish giants but since he returned from the 2010 World Cup with an injury and saw Mesut Ozil arrive, things turned problematic.
The 30 year old still has a lot to offer and Man United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been linked with moves to bring in some extra creativity and a goal scoring threat to his midfield, hence constant speculation with interest in Inter Milan star Wesley Sneijder and a failed attempt to land teenager Lucas Moura, who opted to move to big spending Ligue 1 side PSG.
Javier Hernandez may well be a Real Madrid target but Ferguson will be loathed to lose the Mexican and will not be keen to see another of his players pinched by the La Liga title holders.
The 24 year old is fourth on the Man United striking pecking order and may well feel that at this stage of his career he needs regular first team football and whilst there is no guarantee he would achieve that at Real Madrid he is also nowhere nearer to securing a spot where he currently is, the signing of Robin Van Persie leaving the Guadalajara born forward likely to be bench warming for the foreseeable future.
