Brazilian Wonderkid Neymar Is Open To Chelsea Switch

Neymar would consider Chelsea switch.

“It is very simple: if Barcelona are interested you listen, if Real Madrid are interested you listen, if Chelsea are interested you listen,” said Neymar.

“There are maybe five clubs in the world that you know you must at least listen to. When the time is right I will listen to to the right offers that my agent has for me.”

Former Internacional playmaker Oscar has made an impressive start to his Chelsea career, scoring twice on his Champions League debut against Juventus.

Neymar admitted that both he and Barcelona full-back Dani Alves had made sales pitches to him as he contemplates a move to Europe.

“Oscar messages me to tell me what a great club Chelsea is and what a great city London is,” he added. “He and Dani are both very good salesmen for their club.”

The young forward has 48 goals in 95 league appearances for Santos, and has already hit an impressive 13 goals for the Brazilian national side in just 23 games.

The news that Santos wonderkid Neymar would consider a move to Stamford Bridge will be music to the ears of Chelsea owner Roman Ambramovic (not to mention boss Roberto Di Matteo and the club’s fans).

The 20-year-old is widely regarded as one of the finest prospects in world football and has been linked with moves to Barcelona, Real Madrid and PSG in recent months.

It was understood that Neymar – billed as Brazil’s answer to Leo Messi – would eventually join one the Spanish duo but his admission that he would listen to an offer from any of “five clubs” opens up the possibility of seeing Neymar in the Premier League.

Surely Manchester United are also on that list – maybe even mega-rich Manchester City too. And it will take an extremely wealthy club to prize Neymar from Santos.

European heavyweights are no longer able to nab Brazilian talent on the cheap, as Lucas Moura’s £32m switch from Sao Paulo to PSG illustrated.

Oscar, a former teammate of Neymar at Santos, cost Chelsea over £20m to prize from Internacional, meaning Neymar is likely to be sold for over double that fee.

Chelsea have been searching for a new striker to provide competition for Fernando Torres and this news will undoubtedly have registered in West London. Could be big money bid be on the cards for next summer or even this January?
