Roberto Di Matteo’s Chelsea revolution looks set to continue as the Blues eye a triple raid on Serie A side Sampdoria.

The Stamford Bridge boss, who has been tasked with revamping his squad, brought in the likes of Oscar and Eden Hazard as part of Chelsea’s bid to snap up the world’s finest young prospects.

And according to reports in Italy, he is now considering bringing three more young players in from his homeland.

The Blues are tracking 20-year-old midfielder Pedro Obiang, 21-year-old anchorman Roberto Soriano and Serbia under-21 international Nenad Krsticic, and Di Matteo sent a scout to keep an eye on the trio during Sampdoria’s 1-0 defeat to Napoli earlier this week.

It’s clear that Chelsea’s ethos has firmly switched to the pursuit of a more youthful squad after for many years looking to reverse the ageing playing staff that were the back-bone of the Jose Mourinho regime. Having allowed Didier Drogba to leave the club in the summer and then spent upwards of £80m bringing in six players all of whom are aged 23 or under, Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich seems keen to continue this policy by targeting this Sampdoria trio.

Of those brought in over the summer both Eden Hazard and Oscar have already made a big impact in Roberto Di Matteo’s first team, pushing the West London side to the top of the Premier League.

Of the trio named by this source Pedro Obiang is the most likely to be attracting Chelsea’s interest. The tough tackling Spaniard is a first team regular and a player who is attracting a lot of attention for his robust performances for the Genoa based side.

German born Italian Under 21 international Roberto Soriano is another up and coming talent who plays in a deep holding role, Serbian Nenad Krsticic has forced his way into first team action over the past year and has played in every Serie A match for Ciro Ferrara’s side this term.
