Former Arsenal Star Set To Rejoin Ligue 1 Outfit Marseille

Frenchman to return to homeland.

Former Arsenal midfielder Mathieu Flamini is set to rejoin Marseille at the end of the season, according to talkSPORT.

The AC Milan midfielder had looked set to end his four-year stay the San Siro this summer after the Serie A giants announced he would be leaving as a free agent.

Tottenham were repotedly keen on a shock move for Flamini until a major Rossoneri U-turn saw the 28-year-old offered a new one-year deal.

But Flamini has now told Milan he wants to leave at the end of the season, with Marseilles strong favourites for his signature.

The defensive midfielder came through the ranks at the Velodrome but spent just one season in the first team before joining Arsenal. He spent four years in North London, making over 150 appearances and becoming an integral part of the Gunners first-team.
