Last term it didn’t look like Italian Vito Mannone had a hope in hell of wrestling first team action away from Polish keeper Wojciech Szczesny but the 24 year old has put in such a good shift in place of the injured first choice Arsenal custodian that Arsene Wenger may have to think about whether he needs to drop the Italian or not.

The fact that Mannone is in the final year of his contract hasn’t gone unnoticed and interest from Serie A sides Inter Milan and Napoli may well tempt the former Italian Under 21 international, especially if come January Szczesny has won his spot back.

Of the two sides taking an interest in the former Atalanta youth team player Napoli are perhaps the side more in form but the chance to move to giants Inter Milan may prove the bigger pull for Mannone, not least because new boss Andrea Stramaccioni appears to be getting the Nerazzurri back on track after a particularly shaky couple of seasons.
