Tottenham Set Sights On Dutch Playmaker

White Hart Lane earmark move for AZ Alkmaar teenager.

Check-In to Tottenham v Chelsea

TuttoMercato report that Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has taken an liking to talented young Dutch international Adam Maher.

The White Hart Lane boss is known for his willingness to trust to youth and as such a move to North London may well tempt the young AZ Alkmaar playmaker who could well have outgrown his Eredivisie surroundings.

Moroccan born Dutch international teenager Maher has become a much sought after property and AZ will struggle to keep the 19 year old much longer.

Last term the young midfielder made a real impact in the Eredivisie and became a hugely important player in Gertjan Verbeek’s first team picture, racking up 52 appearances in all competitions and helping AZ to the Europa League Quarter-Finals.

Maher has continued to progress this season, bagging four goals and laying on five assists as prospective interested parties look on. Indeed both Sunderland and Newcastle United are said to be tracking the talented starlet.

Though Tottenham brought in some top quality summer signings they also lost a great deal of midfield creativity as they allowed both Luka Modric and Rafael Van der Vaart to leave for Real Madrid and Hamburg respectively, therefore a move for Adam Maher could be a long term investment well worth making.
