Blues star appears resigned to leaving after club step up interest again in signing the Marseille striker
The former City trainee told Standard Sport in May that he was not sure he had a future at Stamford Bridge and now appears resigned to leaving the club this winter.
There is also speculation that he could move to Arsenal with Theo Walcott, whose contract runs out in the summer, moving the other way.

This could be a move that suits all parties, that is of course if Arsenal are willing to allow Theo Walcott to leave the club in January rather than watch the 23 year old run down his contract and then depart on a free transfer next summer.
The winger has been frozen out of Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven since the opening match of the season, the North London club’s attempt to force Walcott into re-considering his stance on the contract offer made to him, and Arsenal have by no means missed the former Southampton man as the likes of Gervinho and Lukas Podolski ably fill the wide attacking roles.
Wenger would seemingly be happy if the club could come to an agreement on a new deal to keep the England international but perhaps the offer of Chelsea attacker Daniel Sturridge in a swap deal would also tempt the Gunners boss.
Roberto Di Matteo doesn’t appear to have all that much faith in the young forward, handing him just a couple of sub appearances in the Premier League thus far this season and if indeed the former Man City man’s Chelsea career is set to end then the chance to remain in London and a move to Arsenal could well interest Sturridge.
Last term under Andre Villas-Boas the Chelsea man blossomed on the wing but Di Matteo seems to have other ideas and this swap deal may well be more than mere speculation.
Arsenal are unwilling to alter their wage structure to accommodate Walcott’s demands but Chelsea probably wouldn’t think twice about doing so given the amounts the club routinely pay their star turns.
