Arsenal are said to be monitoring Fulham youngster Alexander Kacaniklic’s progress with a view to a potential bid for the Swedish international.

The former Liverpool man spent half of last term on loan at Watford and that grounding of experience and a positive series of displays during pre-season have helped to force the winger into Martin Jol’s first team plans with Kacaniklic appearing in all seven Premier League matches thus far this term.

Though Arsene Wenger has a raft of talented youngsters coming through the Gunners ranks he is said to have taken an interest in Craven Cottage man and has scouted the wide-man on a number of occasions this term both on Fulham duty and also running the rule over the attacker whilst on national team duty.

Fulham have started the season brightly but if Arsene Wenger does indeed register a concrete offer for the Helsingborg born left winger then the West London side may struggle to keep Alexander Kacaniklic from Arsenal’s grasp.

Kacaniklic spent three years at Anfield but failed to make a senior appearance for the Merseyside club before he moved to Fulham in August 2010.
