Real Madrid Plan Move to Sign Man United Keeper David De Gea

Old Trafford youngster on Bernabeu radar.

Check-In to Man United v Stoke City

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a move to sign Man United keeper David de Gea according to CalcioMercato.

The Spanish giants seemingly see the young Old Trafford custodian as an ideal long term replacement for Iker Casillas and indeed a player of sufficient quality to keep the Bernabeu captain on his toes.

Man United spent £17m to bring the 21 year old keeper from Atletico Madrid just over a year ago but thus far this term Sir Alex Ferguson has preferred Dane Anders Lindegaard over the Spaniard, handing De Gea three Premier League starts from the opening seven matches of the campaign.

A move back to La Liga may well tempt the young goalkeeper and Real Madrid are clearly adept at luring players from Man United to the Spanish capital, having signed the likes of David Beckham, Ruud Van Nistelrooy and Cristiano Ronaldo in the recent past.

De Gea has already made a few notable errors as United keeper and Ferguson may well feel that Lindegaard is the more reliable keeper of the two first team options in his squad.
