Roy Hogson Considers Handing Emile Heskey England Recall, Just an Excuse for Aussie Vacation?

Time for a change of scenery as winter kicks-in.

Check-In to Chelsea v Man United

Roy Hodgson is set to jet off to sunnier climbs as he runs the rule over Newcastle Jets striker Emile Heskey.

The England manager is ready to offer the veteran striker an national team recall after monitoring Heskey’s successful start to his Australian adventure.

The former Liverpool and Aston Villa forward last represented his country in the 2010 World Cup before calling time on his international career but Hodgson is convinced that the 34 year old still has something to offer as he looks for alternative attacking options for his England squad.

When quizzed about the motives of his Australian scouting trip Hodgson was very defensive.

‘If this was a holiday would I be taking my wife Sheila, OK bad example, Sheila is of course joining me but only because she can see the inherent value Heskey would offer us up front, and no one else in my coaching group seems to agree with my assessment, well tough luck Ray and Gary, I will prove you all wrong’

Heskey has saved some of his best form for national team duty, netting seven goals in 62 appearances for England.
