Spartak Moscow Want Liverpool Flop Joe Cole

Anfield midfielder on Russian Premier League side’s radar.

Check-In to Everton v Liverpool

Russian side Spartak Moscow have set their sights on Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole according to TransferMarketWeb, a move that presumably the Anfield side wouldn’t be all that unhappy about seeing come to fruition.

The 30 year old former West Ham and Chelsea man has experienced a nightmare period at Anfield and in many ways a move away from the Merseyside club could well suit all concerned.

Cole promised so much when Roy Hodgson signed the experienced attack minded midfielder but his time at the club was perhaps characterized by his sending off on his Premier League debut for Liverpool and things have steadily gone from bad to worse ever since.

Kenny Dalglish didn’t see Cole as part of his first team picture but the Londoner did impress during a season long loan spell at Lille.

Brendan Rodgers has attempted to show some faith in the former England regular but saw Joe Cole injured just minutes into his sub appearance in the opening fixture of the season at West Brom and any role he does have in the Liverpool boss’s plans will be minimal.

Perhaps a move to the Luzhniki Stadium will appeal to Joe Cole and he can presumably attract a decent wage in the Russian Premier League to boot.
