St James Park side prepare bid for Stuttgart forward.
Italian source CalcioMercato today report that Newcastle United have set their sights on Stuttgart forward Vedad Ibisevic as a replacement for exit bound Magpies star Demba Ba.
The St James’ Park side have apparently earmarked a move for the Bosnian international as Alan Pardew prepares for life without Ba, who is still tied to a £7.5m release clause that the North-East side appear to believe will be triggered by an interested party in January.
If Pardew is indeed set to lose a player of Ba’s calibre then it is imperative Newcastle United bring in a player able to carry his load, not least because Papiss Cisse is experiencing something of a slump this term, managing just one Premier League goal thus far this season.
Powerful forward Ibisevic may well be an ideal man for the job.
The 28 year old has scored ten goals in 13 matches this term and was a consistent marksman during his five seasons at Hoffenheim and could well be tempted by the chance of a move to the Premier League.
