Bernabeu side target German international.
Italian source TuttoMercato claim that Real Madrid have taken an interest in Bayern Munich keeper Manuel Neuer as Jose Mourinho looks to bring in a custodian who can not only take the reins from Iker Casillas in the long term but also keep the Spaniard on his toes as a genuine contender for the starting spot in the Bernabeu starting eleven.
The Spanish giants are being linked with a €30m (£24m) move for the 26 year old German international but it would be something of a shock if the Bavarian side considered offers for the talented keeper.
Neuer is in his second season at the Allianz Arena and has been fundamental in Bayern Munich’s excellent start to the Bundesliga campaign, conceding just four goals in nine matches thus far this season.
Real Madrid goalkeeper Casillas doesn’t have much in the way of competition for his place in Mourinho’s first team and clearly Neuer would act as a viable opponent for the spot between the sticks.
