Jenas to remain at City Ground.
Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas is set to extend his loan stay at Nottingham Forest, according to This Is Nottingham.
Jenas scored an audacious goal to cap of Forest’s 4-1 win over Barnsley on Saturday and Reds boss Sean O’Driscoll admitted that he would like to keep the former England player at the City Ground.
The 28-year-old is yet to start to game for the Championship outfit as he struggles to return to fitness following a serious achilles injury, which restricted him to just three appearances last season.
But the former Newcastle star is understood that have told his representatives that he wants to extend his stay at Forest.
It is thought Spurs have now agreed to an extension that will see Jenas remain with the club where he started his career until January.
“He has been really good. Sometimes you are wary about getting a big name from the Premier Division. But he has been an influence on things. We have used his opinion on some things,” said O’Driscoll.
“Initially, it was a suck it and see thing for both parties. But we would like to keep him if we can, we will discuss things and see what happens.
“The boy has to want to stay. He wants to get his career back on track. But every time he has come on, he has given us an added dimension. He is not far from getting a start and I am sure he will back himself to hold on to that place when he does.”
