Chelsea to Hand Pep Guardiola £16m a Year Deal to Take Blues Managerial Reins Next Summer

Stamford Bridge side very keen on former Barcelona boss.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to make former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola an offer they hope he can not refuse. German source suggest that Roman Abramovich is eyeing up the 41 year old Spaniard to take the Stamford Bridge managerial reigns next summer.

The West London side will apparently offer an astronomical annual salary of €20m (£16m), a figure that dwarfs any wage currently earned by any manager in world football.

Guardiola left Barcelona last summer after four stellar years in charge of the Catalan club. The former midfielder is now based in New York where he may well be getting a better grasp of English, fueling speculation about a Premier League job being his next port of call.

Any move to replace Di Matteo as Chelsea boss in the summer could be deemed as more than a little unfair he secured a Champions League title in his first term and it’s odd to think that Abramovich would be considering axing the Italian given that his side sits top of the Premier League after an impressive start to the campaign.
