Liverpool Plan Audacious Move to Snatch Swansea City Attacker Michu

Anfield side consider another Liberty Stadium raid.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has taken an interest in Swansea City new boy Michu and is considering an ambitious move to lure the Spaniard to Anfield.

The 26 year old Spaniard only moved to the Liberty Stadium in July and has already proved a massive success at the South Wales side, netting six goals in nine Premier League appearances since his £1.7m move from Rayo Vallecano.

Rodgers is drawing up a list of attacking targets he hopes to bring in when the transfer window reopens in January and is said to be a big admirer of the powerful adaptable attacker who can play in an advanced midfield role or as an orthodox striker.

Michu’s superb season with Vallecano last term, during which he netted 15 La Liga goals, earned him a move to the Premier League and the Liverpool boss may feel he could tempt the former Celta Vigo man to the Merseyside club but will ideally have significantly improved on their current 12th placed spot by the time the transfer window has reopened.

Swansea City chairman Huw Jenkins will look to thwart such a move having already seen Liverpool take the Swans boss as well as midfielder Joe Allen. However if Liverpool offer a fee well in excess of that paid to land Michu, and if the player were to force such a move, then perhaps such a move would become more plausible.
