Villa Park boss wants Saint-Etienne forward.
Aston Villa are already looking at replacements for Darren Bent – and are ready to chase Saint-Etienne striker Pierre Aubameyang, writes The Sunday People.
Boss Paul Lambert has frozen Bent out of the first-team picture at Villa Park and looks certain to flog him in January, with Fulham interested.
Aubameyang is believed to be one of the strikers Lambert has earmarked as Bent’s replacement.
The 23-year-old began his career with Milan but moved to France last year.

It does seem that the relationship between Paul Lambert and striker Darren Bent is at the very least not a cordial one. The Villa Park boss has handed the England man just one start in the last five Premier League encounters and appears to favour new signing Christian Benteke, who has started to make an impact since his summer move to the Midlands.
French born Gabon international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a man in the form of his footballing career. The 23 year old netted 16 goals in Ligue 1 last term and has scored four in six in this campaign and put in a masterly display to help his Saint-Etienne side overcome big spending PSG on their patch yesterday.
Perhaps the former AC Milan man would be tempted by a move to the Premier League and one would imagine such a striker switch would boost the Aston Villa coffers as the sale of Bent would surely pay for Aubameyang’s services and leave a tidy sum left over for good measure.
Such a move may well be a brave one to make as Bent is on the whole one of the most consistent goalscorers in recent Premier League history.
