Turkish giants want Anfield midfielder.

Turkish giants Galatasaray want to sign Joe Cole in loan in January – and are willing to pay the majority of his £100,000 a week wages, writes The Sunday People.

The former England star, who turns 31 next week, has not started a Premier League game under Brendan Rodgers, who panned his midweek League Cup display against Swansea.

Cole is keen for regular football but his lucrative long-term Anfield contract, which runs until 2014, makes a permanent move unlikely.

Liverpool are believed to be willing to allow him out on loan, if the deal is right for them.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers appears to have run out of patience with Joe Cole and could well accept any offer that would see the former West Ham and Chelsea man leave the club.

Brendan Rodgers had stated his intention to offer the former Chelsea and West Ham man the chance to prove himself when he took over at Liverpool and even handed the former England man a sub appearance in the club’s opening fixture against West Brom, only to see the player limp off after nine minutes.

Cole has had a fairly horrific time of it at Liverpool, a move that almost looked doomed from the outset. The Londoner was sent off in his Premier League debut for the Merseyside club and was rarely used by Kenny Dalglish when the Scot took over from Roy Hodgson.

A loan spell at Lille last season resurrected Cole’s career and a return to regular football seemed to spark life into the 30 year old attacking midfielder however he has been unable to prove himself when selected by Rodgers for first team action and a long overdue Anfield departure may be best for all concerned.
