Liverpool do indeed new striking reinforcements and now the Anfield side apparently wants either of the Magpies Senegal internationals to fill the void.
Of the pair one would have thought that Demba Ba was a more realistic proposition given the player’s £7.5m release clause but now it seems that Brendan Rodgers has changed tack and is targeting former Freiburg forward Papiss Cisse.
One would imagine that any hope of landing either Newcastle United star would depend greatly on how Liverpool are faring come January, currently the Merseyside club lie in 12th spot in the Premier League table.
Rodgers has just one fit senior striker at present, Luis Suarez, with Italian Fabio Borini out with a broken foot.
Papiss Cisse has struck 14 goals in 22 Premier League matches for Newcastle United whilst Demba Ba has managed 23 goals in 43 top tier matches since his move to the North-East from West Ham.
