Stamford Bridge side keen on FC Porto forward.
Fichajes today report that Chelsea are interested in Colombian forward Jackson Martinez, who could be a more realistic January target than his fellow countryman Radamel Falcao, who appears keen on sticking with his Atletico Madrid side after a promising start to the La Liga season.
Chelsea have been linked with a plethora of striker targets as the West London side reportedly look to boost a strike-force that overly depends on inconsistent Spaniard Fernando Torres.
A move Martinez would presumably cost a damn sight less than any move to sign Atletico forward Falcao and the FC Porto man has been incredibly successful since his move to Portugal.
A lot has been expected of Jackson Martinez as he saw striker Hulk leave FC Porto shortly after his arrival. The lethal finisher has not disappointed, exceeding all expectations with a blistering start scoring nine goals in nine matches and helping his side to the top of the Primeira Liga.
Juventus and Man City are also said to be keen on the powerful Porto forward who is said to have a €40m (£31m) buyout clause.
