Etihad Stadium side plan surprise bid to sign Old Trafford wide-man.
Man City have reportedly set their sights on unhappy Man United winger Nani according to Bola.
The Portuguese winger has become something of a bit-part player at Old Trafford and recent comments from Sir Alex Ferguson would suggest that the 25 year old is likely to leave Man United sooner rather than later.
The Scot held Nani accountable for his side’s exit to Chelsea in the Capital One Cup and it’s very rare for an individual to be publicly named and shamed in this manner and such treatment comes on top of a great deal of speculation regarding the attacker’s wage demands amid possible interest from Russian big spenders Zenit.
Roberto Mancini’s side have struggled to break down the opposition this term and though the Premier League title holders remain unbeaten four draws in ten matches have seen them slip to third in the table.
Therefore there could be scope for a move from Man City to bring in a creative talent who could help provide the ammunition for the likes of Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez, Mario Balotelli and Edin Dzeko, four strikers who clearly know where the back of the net is.
Current wide attackers Samir Nasri and David Silva, who has had an uncharacteristically average start to the campaign, are not proving all that effective and though Mancini has on hand players such as Scott Sinclair and James Milner as alternatives the Italian appears to be have taken an interest in Nani.
Nani has stated just four of Man United’s ten Premier League fixtures this term and as such could well be a player Sir Alex Ferguson would be willing to cash in on though selling to their local rivals would perhaps be a bridge too far.
