Arsenal have long been linked with interest in Moroccan international Adel Taarabt and now speculation about such a move is back on the table. Arsene Wenger is said to be keen on the QPR attacker, who failed to make the grade at Tottenham and left White Hart Lane for Loftus Road in the summer of 2010 after two successful loan spells.

The 23 year old is known for as well known for his ability to make something out of nothing as he is to simply vanish from view for long periods. However the former Lens man has been relatively consistent this term even though his QPR side are still looking to secure their first win of the campaign.

One does wonder if Arsenal need to make a move for a player of Taarabt’s type given that Theo Walcott has been frozen out of the first team picture but still leaving Arsene Wenger with a number of wide attacking options ranging from the experienced in the form of Lukas Podolski and Gervinho, to the youthful with the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and loaned out Japanese youngster Ryo Miyaichi available to the Gunners boss.

Mark Hughes may be loathed to lose Taarabt but if a decent offer was made for the flair player than the West London side may be forced into considering their options, especially as owner Tony Fernandes may feel the need to balance the books after forking out large sums over the summer on top level additions to the QPR squad.

Taarabt failed to make an impact at Tottenham and didn’t even warrant a single Premier League start in the three years he was at the club. Since his move to QPR the Fes born forward has amassed 134 appearances and scored 31 goals.
