Old Trafford side close in on Borussia Dortmund.
Fichajes are reportedly in secret talks with Borussia Dortmund as Sir Alex Ferguson pursues Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski.
The Polish international has been linked with interest from the Old Trafford side in the past but one would have thought that the addition of Robin Van Persie to the Man United squad over the summer would negate the need to bring in yet more firepower.
This source states that Man United are ready to fork out €30m (£23.9m) for the 24 year old Bundesliga hot-shot as Ferguson looks to bring in another player from Jurgen Klopp’s side having signed Shinji Kagawa in June.
Lewandowski scored 30 goals in all competitions helping Dortmund to a domestic double in the process. This season hasn’t fared so well for the Westfalenstadion side as Bayern Munich’s start to the season has left all their competitors in their wake.
The Bavarians are already 11 points clear of the back to back Bundesliga title holders and this could well lead to Lewandowski considering his options.
Sir Alex Ferguson has a fair few striking options at present, including the aforementioned Van Persie, Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez, so would the Scot really need to spend big to further improve the club’s attacking options?
