Villa Park boss ready to offload deadwood.
Paul Lambert will listen to offers for several of Aston Villa’s old guard as he looks to rebuild in the new year.
Out-of-favour players will be moved on in order to free up room in his budget.
Bids will be considered for Shay Given, Richard Dunne, Stephen Warnock and Alan Hutton in a drive to remove high earners from the books.

Paul Lambert is clearly keen to cut costs at Villa Park whilst also looking to put his own stamp on the squad he inherited from former boss Alex McLeish. With that in mind it makes sense to cash in on this quartet so that funds can be accrued and used to improve a decidedly average Aston Villa squad.
Of the four players named perhaps the sales of Shay Given and Stephen Warnock could lead to a decent sum being brought in to the Aston Villa coffers and by all accounts Richard Dunne is being targeted by La Liga side Malaga.
Former Rangers man Alan Hutton was linked with a move back to Ibrox over the summer but that would appear less likely now that the Glasgow side have been demoted to the Scottish Third Division.
Aston Villa have corrected themselves a tad after a rocky opening to the campaign, collecting four points from their last two Premier League games and securing a spot in the Capital One Cup Quarter Finals.
