Etihad Stadium side plan yet another Emirates Stadium raid.
German source 4-4-2.com claim that Man City are keen on signing Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott.
The 23 year old England international is in the final year of his contract and has been frozen out of the Arsenal’s starting eleven, leading to speculation that the Gunners may well consider offers for the youngster in January to avoid losing the player on a free transfer in the summer.
Walcott has started just one Premier League match this season but has nonetheless made an impact coming off the bench, scoring eight goals in all competitions and as such his omission from Wenger’s first team would appear to be clearly based on off-field issues and not a lack of form on the Gunners star’s part.
Roberto Mancini may well feel his side could do with some direct attacking options after a somewhat unspectacular start to his defence of the Premier League title.
Man City have brought in a number of Arsenal stars in recent seasons with Samir Nasri, Kolo Toure and Gael Clichy still part of Mancini’s squad, whilst another former Gunner Emmanuel Adebayor was sold to Tottenham over the summer.
Theo Walcott is thought to be demanded a hefty pay rise which Arsenal are steadfastly refusing to stump up, no doubt a wage that Man City will be more than willing and able to finance.
