Man United Battle Juventus for Top Quality Pair

Old Trafford side keen on duo who are also interesting Turin side.

Check-In to Chelsea v Liverpool

German source claim that Man United are battling Juventus for two talents that Sir Alex Ferguson would like to lure to Old Trafford.

Borussia Dortmund forward Robert Lewandowski and Danish centre-back Jores Okore are both on the Scot’s radar but also both seemingly targets of the Serie A table toppers as well.

Polish international Lewandowski was strongly linked with a move to Man United both before and during the Euro 2012 finals but appears to still be a player Ferguson is interested in, despite the fact that Dutch goal machine Robin Van Persie was brought in from Arsenal.

Interest in Nordsjaelland defender Okore may be more relevant to the Premier League side given a defensive injury crisis that has seen Nemanja Vidic, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones out of action for some time. This has led to Jonny Evans, Rio Ferdinand and even Michael Carrick, struggling to keep things tight at the back.

Man United have conceded 14 goals in ten Premier League matches, only nine out of the top tier’s 20 sides have conceded more, and therefore the 20 year old Ivory Coast born defender could well interest Ferguson.
