Young midfielder set to make Emirates Stadium exit.
Arsenal ‘open to January offers for midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong’
Arsenal are reportedly ready to sell Emmanuel Frimpong in the January transfer window, with the midfielder’s contract due to expire next summer.
The Gunners are said to be open to offers for the 20-year-old after deciding not renew his current deal.
Emmanuel Frimpong is arguably a player with a far higher media profile than his talent deserves and it appears Arsene Wenger is in agreement as he is set to offload the 20 year old enforcer.
The defensive midfielder has had problems with injuries, most notably suffering a ruptured a cruciate ligament in his knee during his loan spell at Wolves.
Thus far this term Frimpong has played just 80 minutes for the Gunners first team and this all coming during Capital One Cup duty, indeed he was hauled off after 62 minutes of the epic 7-5 win over Reading, the score being 4-1 to the Royals.
Though Arsenal could well do with an out and out defensive midfield presence in this first team it seems clear that Frimpong is not the man for the job.
